I got this kit yesterday, and started working on the bike last night because it looked so good. I'm tempted to add the biker to my current diorama, but she who knows all said it would be too busy. Oh well, the bike looks an easy build.
You get two figures, a motorcycle and some road signs in this kit. The figures are nicely detailed overall and well proportioned although the standing figure appears to have overly large sleeves. The mouldings are nice, although the detail on the heads is a little soft in places. Unlike some other recent releases Tamiya appear to have backed off on the super-exagerrated facial features. There is minimal cleanup required on the bike and figures, with just noticeable seams.
The motorcycle is an RZM 350 with two seats, carrier bags and breaks down into about a dozen parts. The kit is engineered so the front wheel assembly can be posed at any rotation. Nice! The spokes of the wheels are molded as closely as possible to reality, but the fanatics among you will want to mess with tiny bits of PE to make real spokes (not me!!!).
The biker is holding a map (one cuts it out of the instructions), and comes with two heads (just use one!). One head wears a cap, the other not, both with goggles moulded on. The standing Feldgarm (I apologize for the atrocious spelling) is in standard M1943 gear with a traffic wand, with gorget moulded on. The kit artwork suggests the standing guy is giving directions to the biker.
A nice kit. Now, can we have an Allied version of this next Mr. Tamiya? How about in US and Commonwealth versions!!!!
