Reviews - Rating System

On Track-Link, reviews are summarized by a star rating, with five stars being the best score possible. These ratings are the individual reviewer's personal opinion and each modeller will value things differently. The star rating is only an indication of the reviewer's assessment of the product. It is always prudent to consider on what basis the reviewer made his or her rating and other people's opinions.

The table below is a summary of the rating system used by the some members of Track-Link and what the different ratings mean.

	Excellent	Highly Recommended
The item is of extremely high quality. Attributes may include accurate to scale diagrams, very lifelike, easy to build or use, clear instructions, strong attention to small details and completeness. It may have some minor failings or opportunities for enhancement.
	Very Good	Recommended
Overall the item is very good and has no major weaknesses. The item is to scale, lifelike, complete and/or easy to use. Some flaws exist in areas such as fit of parts, decal choice, user friendliness, or attention to small detail.
	Good	Recommended with reservation
The item is a good representation of the subject or does what it is intended for. However it has several weaknesses such as pitfalls in assembly or use due to poor design or vague instructions, a few sub-standard parts or inaccurate decals. Most modellers could happily build or use it.
	Fair	Limited appeal
The item has problems that require rework, and/or advanced modelling skills to overcome. For example a kit or figure may have clearly visible gaps or be missing detail normally included. Decals, tools and diorama accessories may require extra effort or care to get satisfactory results.
	Poor	Not recommended/not worth using
The item has fundamental problems such as being very hard to assemble or requiring major scratch building to achieve reasonable standards. The quality of the product is well below industry standards (e.g. crude detail, inconsistent results, short shot parts). For many modellers the item is either unbuildable or not worth using.
	Useless	Completely useless
The item has no value to the modeller at all.
	No rating	Not evaluation made
This rating can be used for a kit that is reviewed for informational purposes and no judgment about it's usefulness has been made.
